  2. The indicator will display red while charging, and will turn to green when fully charged.

  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover.

  4. Only Eco output and Low output can be operated while charging. The flashlight cannot be operated without a battery inserted.

Note:

  1. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L18-3400 rechargeable battery is approximately 3 hours from depletion to fully charged with a 5 V/2 A charging adapter.

  2. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum performance of the battery.

Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%

Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%

Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the light will gradually recall the standard output level.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind you to replace or recharge the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery level runs out.

Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fully charge the light in time to ensure normal function the next time it is needed.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the O-ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Replace or recharge the battery (Ensure the battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.

Flashlight works great, the high power mode helps for certain. The case is well made but the only thing it needs is a more powerful magnet.

Solid EDC

Bought this on a whim. I have owned Surefire, Nitecore and a few other EDC flashlights this one beats them all. Proven in the flied and the charge will hold for a week more more depending on your usage. Liked this so much that I bought another as a backup.

Great Light Output, Hate the Switch

I want to love this light because Fenix makes great ones but for EDC the switch location is terrible. I have had numerous occasions where it gets turned on in my pocket and I notice my pocket getting warm. The light output is great though.

I would highly recommend using the lock/unlock feature when it's in your pocket:

Lock/Unlock

Lock: with the light switched off, double click the switch to lock the light, the light will blink twice in Eco mode to indicate locked status.

Unlock: with the light locked, double click the switch to unlock the light, the light will be unlocked and the previously used output will be recalled.

*In locked status, clicking or pressing the switch will activate 2 blinks on Eco to indicate locked status.

Or, if you don't want to use that, a slight turn to the head to disengage the battery will also prevent the light from turning on when you are carrying it in your pocket.

Incredible run time for something this small and bright!

This is one power house of a flashlight. I use it all the time as my main light. The battery life is supper even when using it on higher powers. I will agree that it would be nice to have a tail switch and it does get hot on tubo. About negative reviews all I can say is first they didn't research the flashlight function before buying it and about getting hot what do you expect from a flashlight this small with the amount of light it can put out. If you need high power for more than a short time buy the right flashlight. Small size less heat dissipation bigger more heat dissipation. So if your like me and don't need high power all the time but like to have it when you do and the run time is unbelievable you won't go wrong with this one. As for people that say it is dangerous because it turns itself on when in your pocket. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. It has a lock out function.
