ON/OFF

Tap the tail switch to momentarily turn on the light, release it the light goes out. Fully press the tail switch to turn ON/OFF the light.

Output Selection

With the light on, single-click the side switch to cycle through Turbo→Low→Mid→High→Eco.

Strobe and SOS

With the light on, press and hold the side switch for 0.5 seconds to enter into Strobe mode.

Under Strobe mode, single-click the side switch to cycle through Strobe→SOS.

Then press and hold the side switch for 0.5 seconds to turn back to General mode.

Intelligent Memory Circuit

The flashlight memorizes the last-used brightness level in the General mode, but not Strobe and SOS. The next time you turn on the flashlight, it will activate the last brightness level you selected.

Over-heat Protection

The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when it is working at Turbo and High brightness level. When it works at Turbo for 3 minutes or at High for 30 minutes, the flashlight will automatically downshift to lower output to prevent the light from overheating. If the Turbo or High output is needed, please reset it again. But the flashlight could be damaged or the normal service life would be shortened because of continuous use like this.

Low-voltage Warning Function

If low voltage is detected, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until to Eco brightness level. When this happens at Eco output mode, the flashlight blinks three times every five minutes to remind you to replace the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work until the battery runs out completely.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the tail cap to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, and then screw the tail cap.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using excellent quality battery. If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Unscrew the tail cap one-half turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
Reason A: The batteries need replacing.
Solution: Replace batteries (Please confirm the correct installation of anode and cathode).
Reason B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor. Notice: The routine cleaning video can be watched and downloaded through Fenix official website, please log onto the service channel->“maintenance for light”.

Warning

The flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone’s eyes.

PD32 Happy

I love the four lighting levels. The range from dim to brightest is outstanding. The size makes it very handy.

PD32 Deserves highly rating -

Since the PD32 model I have is no longer around i thought I would give a deserved feedback. I have used the V2 predecessor for 9 years heavily since 2015/16, I am a Global service tech for a leading Global machine tool manufacturer , always on the road globally and this flashlight has never let me down, I have probably dropped it 200+ times from a belt height of 1m or less onto concrete floors, and steel, in factories while servicing equipment, it gets covered in grease, oil , dirt, and it still functions perfectly. Not only that I am still in awe of the battery life, intermittently an 18650 will get me through a weeks service trip without battery replacement using it on and off (not for long periods) but lots of short period, i have never gone through more than 2 battery charges for a couple week trip. its still bright enough on the 2-3 setting (70-140) lumen for most uses. i use the 340 Lm setting rarely. it really is an awesome piece of kit and worth every penny of the $80 i paid back in 2015, it has more test and usage and life than any other brand I have owned, led lenser P7 for example, this is by far my best flashlight purchase. I have used very few of the spares but i have replaced the rubber button once. the head has PD32-B V2 , 12-1-16. F5422v00583

Pleasantly surprised

I purchased this flashlight, to be an occasional backup, but ended up being my primary light. The separate mode button helps moderate the brightness and battery usage. Still in use, after initial battery charge, 3 weeks ago. Definitely considering purchasing another one.

still the best EDC as of 2024

It has many features that recent flashlights fail to deliver:

1. low min lumen (5), although 1 lumen would be better
2. ability to work with unprotected 18650's (in an emergency it can take just any 18650. The so-called "protected" ones are basically marketing gimmicks to triple the price or more.)
3. It tail-stands! You know how much Fenix hates to give users tail-standing lights.
4. s.o.s. mode

Basically, Fenix doesn't care about user feedback. Don't even think you can get these features back in the future. Just grab this PD32 before it goes out of production.

Hi Kimberley - it is completely inaccurate to make a statement that Fenix doesn't care about user feedback. The factory (which is Fenixlight Ltd, not us - we are US Distributor) has incorporated many items from user feedback into the newer releases. Several of the recently released edc flashlights have an eco or moonlight mode of 1 or 5 lumens, and have the ability to tail stand (although the tail stand may be on a light with a side switch only, but there are several new lights that can tail stand). The customers wanted lights to have the ability to go direct to red light instead of hitting the white light first, and this request has been incorporated into pretty much every new product that also has a red light. The manufacturer does listen to what customers want and incorporates those changes into newer lights based on that feedback. It multiple cases a new version of a light has come out not too long after the prior version so that the feedback has been incorporated, for example, the PD40R V3 has a hard stop before the SOS and Strobe modes, and the HM65R-T V2 has incorporated an easier to use headband system and larger band, again, based on customer feedback.

Super EDC

The PD 32 is a fantastic EDC flashlight with a super useful lumen spread for that task. I can walk around the house with 5 lumens, 50 lumens walking the dog, 150 for woods walks at night. 400 and turbo are great for looking farther distances maybe 50 to 150 yards. So, I can find a level of brightness suited to what I'm doing inside or outside easily.

I have no problem finding the side switch in the dark as I line the clip with the button. Doesn't turn on in my pocket due to the tail switch being recessed and it needs a firm push. It's perfect.

The actual beam is a good combo of throw and flood, and isn't yellow or green color, it's a nice cool white. I've got lots of flashlights, this one is as good as it gets for EDC. Very, very satisfied, so much so I purchased another!
