*16340/18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Using only quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.

*While using two CR123A batteries, the Turbo output cannot be operated and the actual brightness of Strobe mode is 800 lumens.

Battery Replacement

Unscrew the light tail to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.

Charging

  1. With the flashlight switched off, loosen the light neck to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
  2. The indicator will display red while charging, and will turn to green when fully charged.
  3. Once charging has completed, be sure to tighten the light neck to maintain the dustproof and waterproof functionality.

Note:

  1. The normal charging time of the Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery is about 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/2 A charging adapter.
  2. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum performance of the battery.
  3. The light cannot be operated while charging.

Battery Level Indication

Loosen the light neck to reveal the battery level indicator. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator will show the current battery level and will last for 3 seconds.

Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%

Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50%

Red light on: poor 50% - 25%

Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%

*Note: This only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the light will gradually recall the preset output level.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, the light blinks 3 times every 5 minutes in Low output to remind users to recharge or replace the battery.

Note: This only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed components can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Loosen the tail cap or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.

Warning

  • Do NOT place this flashlight in the of the reach of children!
  • Do NOT shine the flashlight directly into the eyes of anyone!
  • Do NOT place the flashlight near flammable objects, high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite!
  • Do NOT use the flashlight in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth, doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the flashlight or internal battery fails!
  • This flashlight will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns.
  • Remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • The LED of this flashlight is not replaceable; so the whole flashlight will need to be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its lifespan.

What are the key features of PD32R?

A: Fenix PD32R is a high-performance rechargeable tactical flashlight. Its key features include:

  1. The multi-function tail switch controls the on/off, instant strobe, and four brightness levels.
  2. The silent tail switch minimizes operational noise, which assists lighting needs required in various scenarios such as tactical operations and outdoor searching.
  3. The hidden Type-C charging port supports USB Type-C charging while maintaining the overall beauty of the flashlight.

What kind of LED is used in PD32R? Does Fenix offer to replace LED?

A: A Luminus SFT40 LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. Fenix does not provide LED replacement services for the time being, and users are not recommended to replace the LEDs independently, which may affect product performance and cause product damage.

What is the color temperature of PD32R?

A: Around 6500K.

What is the operating voltage and the operating current of PD32R?

A: The operating voltage is 2.9 - 6.0 V. The max operating current is 5.2 A.

How to prevent accidental activation of the PD32R?

A: Loosen the light tail, or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation.

Is the PD32R internally waterproof?

A: Yes, the light is internally waterproof and is thus still waterproof without the port cover in place, however, we do recommend keeping the port cover closed.

Is PD32R rechargeable? How long is the charging time?

A: Yes. Loosen the light neck to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and battery level indicator. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged. The normal charging time is approximately 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/2 A charging adapter.

Why does the PD32R downshift to a lower mode after being used for a while and the higher mode cannot be selected?

A: There are two reasons:

1. Intelligent Overheat Protection

The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature.

2. Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the Low mode is reached.

Why does the PD32R happen to flicker?

A: The reasons that may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate:

1. Poor battery level.

Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.

2. The contact or contact point of the battery or flashlight is dirty.

Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

What kind of battery can be used in PD32R?

A: It is recommended to use a Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery, or two CR123A batteries. While using two CR123A batteries, the actual max output is 800 lumens, the max beam distance is 270 meters and the max runtime is 30 hours at Low output. Other Li-ion batteries are not recommended. As an unmatched battery may cause the flashlight to fail to work normally.

What are the optional accessories for PD32R?

A:

AER-02 V2.0 Tactical remote pressure switch, ALG-00 Rail mount, ALG-15 Rail mount, ALG-16 M-LOK quick-release rail mount, ALG-18 Rail mount, AOD-S V2.0 Diffuser tip, AOT-03 Traffic wand, AOT-S+ Traffic wand, AOF-S+V2.0 Filter adapter, etc.
