Battery Replacement Unscrew the light tail and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.

Charging the TK20R V2.0

  1. Loosen the light head counterclockwise to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and plug the USB A socket of the charging cable into an electrical outlet, then connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
  2. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to tighten the light head to maintain the dustproof and waterproof ability.

Note:

  1. When charging fails or the battery is reversely connected, the battery indicator will flash red to remind the user to check the battery.
  2. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 is approximately 3.5 hours from depletion to full charging.
  3. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
  4. The light is unavailable while charging.

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Battery Level Indication Each time the light is turned on, the indicator (unscrew the light head to see) will indicate the battery level and will last for 3 seconds.

  • Green light on: saturated 100% - 85%
  • Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50%
  • Red light on: poor 50% - 25%
  • Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1%

Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

Intelligent Overheat Protection The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of Turbo mode.

Low-voltage Warning When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the light blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery. Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-L21 series 21700 rechargeable Li-ion battery.

TK20R V2.0 Usage and Maintenance

1. Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on Turbo output levels for extended periods. Q10. What is the APF?

A: The APF (Advanced Pulse-frequency Transmission System) was developed by Fenix Laboratory for producing better flashlights. It has abandoned the traditional development way, breaking through the technology bottleneck, allowing flashlight with a tail switch to achieve a higher level of performance:

1. Higher output: the APF system has made higher lumens from a forward switch possible, it breaks the limitation of current.

2. Simpler multi-functional tail switch: this APF technology can transmit various signal commands through a single layer within the light body. Traditional signal transmission requires a multi-layer system. Thanks to this new single-layer system, the light size can be greatly reduced and the structure will be more compact.

3. Better anti-interference performance: the APF system combats signal interference, but it doesn't work if it is applied to a magnetic switch. Therefore, the TK20R V2.0 will be less prone to interference based on the use of a mechanical switch.

Q11. Is the TK20R V2.0 battery port waterproof?

A.  The light is waterproof so long as the battery port cover is completely tightened.

Q12. What should I do if the TK20R V2.0 needs repair?

2. 5-year free repair: Fenix will repair a light free of charge within 5 years (non-detachable light: 2 years, rechargeable battery and other accessories: 1 year) of purchase if problems develop with normal use.

3. Lifetime maintenance: If repair is required after 5 years from the date of purchase, Fenix will charge for parts. The total repair fee is dictated by the cost of the replaced materials.

Solid

Haven’t really put it to work yet. But did try it out around the house. Very bright. On off and brightness buttons seem tight (not flimsy). I am able to separate the buttons with gloves on. The flashlight is mounted on my firefighter helmet. Getting around at night is better. But I didn’t use it in a burned out building yet (thank God). It does seem a bit large for a helmet light. I may go with something a little smaller. Not sure though. I would like to go with Fenix if I do go with something smaller and will take a closer look at the dimensions.

The real deal

I started to become interested in flashlights and all things tactical a few years ago when the pandemic opened my eyes to just how quickly things can go wrong and affect not only one country but pretty much the whole world. No longer were those cheap 3 packs of Eveready flashlights that you throw in your junk drawer and then throw in the garbage once you go to use it only to find out the batteries have leaked out making it useless , were going to cut it when you need a flashlight .
Not wanting to have to be in the dark the next time TSHTF, I began researching flashlights and got caught up in that whole O brand scheme for a minute because those bundle deals seemed to be amazing. Needless to say , you get what you pay for and I was not impressed by about 2/3rds of the stuff they sent me. Then I was directed towards Fenix by a pretty fanatical flashlight group on Reddit. And they steered me right. Right out of the box you could see and feel this was a serious flashlight. Following the instructions to the letter, I charged it up before use. It didn’t take that long but it felt like forever because I wanted to try this out so badly.
Once the green light came on indicating full charge I took it out in the dark backyard and cycled through every setting, checking out the throw on each, testing the strobe and was blown away at the many levels you can choose from and by the throw on turbo mode. My neighbors were probably wondering what the hell I was up to but I don’t care. I bet they wished they had a flashlight like mine now. Buy it, I see this as one of those buy it for life products. And the camo looks cool as hell on it.

Great product

My first Fenix flashlight was a battery operated and it is my favorite one. Too bad they don't the same exact one but rechargeable. Anyway I bought my fourth and I also bought one for my Father-in-law for his birthday. Fenix makes quality flashlight. I will keep buying them and looking into getting a lantern. Keep up the good work. Thank you Fenix.

So far so good

Impressive light level, robust build. If the battery lasts a few years I will rate a full 5 stars. Did a lot of very technical research, appears this light meets the definition of the best balance of premium performance, engineered durability and price. Just wish it was made in the USA. Unfortunately no real viable similar options made here. Did also buy and now discontinued zoom Fenix from a scamazon. Guessing that it had already been sold once before, tried it and returned after numerous intermittent on/off failures. At any rate was looking for full spot and strong field of view. For those looking for the same, the TK20v2 gives both....with significantly More light in both than the discontinued top of line Fenix zoom. Thanks to all the take the time to leave reviews to help others, hoping this does as well.

It's definitely always a risk, unfortunately, with not knowing who all the vendors are on Amazon, and the same with eBay. We just don't know who he vendors are and if they are selling brand new lights or used ones. Glad you were able to get that one returned!

Best Light Yet!

I bought this TK20R with the flag logo as a replacement for the same model I only had for a week before losing it! Here's a little tip, use the lanyard! I own several Fenix lights and this one is another winner. I use it every day for work, I love the fact that it is a 3000-lumen light and that it has dual tail switches. Although slightly bigger than some other models, this is still small enough to fit in a pocket and keep handy. I also like the screw cover closure on the opening for the USB port, seems more secure. This is my new "go to" light!
