Philosophy of Use
• Made for the avid outdoorsman or anyone who needs to light up their entire neighborhood. Ok, maybe not the entire neighborhood, but maybe a good chunk of it.
• I would also give this a thumbs up for preppers. The battery choice and light output place this light as a good choice for anyone who needs a good standby light in case of emergencies. It’ll be ready to roll when you need it the most.

• Fenix nailed it on the different increments. Some lights it’s hard to see the difference in light output. The LR35R modes are very distinguishable from one another. Medium mode is a sweet spot at 1200 lumens and runs forever, it seems.

Beam Distance

• More than any one of us would ever truly need. I can easily see if I’m going to be mauled by a grizzly.

Functionality
• On/off
With the light unlocked and switched off, press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds to turn on the light.
With the light switched on, press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds to turn off the light.
In general mode, single click the switch to cycle through Eco, Low, Med, High, Turbo.
• This light has a lock function that works perfect to ensure against accidental activation. Just double tap the switch while the light is off, and it’ll blink to let you know it’s in lockout mode. To unlock, just double tap the switch again to regain full function.

Battery/Accessories
• USB Type-C rechargeable and includes a battery level indicator to keep track of your battery’s status.
• Two ARB-L21-4000P rechargeable li-ion batteries, Type-C charging cable, holster, lanyard, spare O-ring
• This light is a powerhouse. It’ll keep going and going on the two included batteries. It’s hard to believe how far flashlight companies have come in this department.

Durability/Reliability
• Made of durable A6061-T6 aluminum.
• Premium type HAIII hard-anodized anti-abrasive finish.
• IP68 dustproof and waterproof. Very rarely, if ever, do I come across a Fenix light that isn’t waterproof. They work 100% of the time for me when out in the elements.
• I’ve not had a single issue with mine. I’ve tossed it in a bucket of water by accident, dropped it in mud, and it hasn’t missed a beat. The fit and finish is definitely top shelf, which Fenix is known for.

• Fenix packs a lot of technology into their products. I’ve yet to own a Fenix light that I didn’t feel lived up to a higher standard of dependability. When you purchase a flashlight, you need it work all the time, every time you press the “on” switch.

Final Thoughts
• There is a bigger brother, the Fenix LR40R, for a few bucks more. If you want longer runtimes, , tighter spot, and less heat, I’d go with the LR40R. However, if you don’t need turbo often, and would like a much smaller package with very good runtimes, the LR35R is more than capable.
• For the massive light output, this thing is tiny! It’s unreal how much light you can blast from this tiny thing. It is my go-to light for any bumps in the night.
• The beam is incredible. The spill just keeps going and going. It’s not a super thrower but unless you live in a state that is as flat as a pancake, you might not need a light with a beam that will reach clear across a few miles.
• I can fit the LR35R in my pocket but keep in mind I’m 6’3, 250 lbs. Most of my pants have cargo pockets and it fits in there just fine for me. Skinny jeans can forget about it. Keep in mind, your mileage may vary when it comes to pocket carry. It’s not anywhere the same size as a Fenix PD36R.
• The belt clip works pretty well when you need to go hands free. I can quickly attach it to my belt or clip it to a bag. The clip is super sturdy too. Your chances of bending it are slim. It’s that tough.
• The size and battery life are the real winners for me. I don’t use turbo very often and because of that, the battery lasts a very long time, especially in medium mode which is a whopping 1200 lumens for over 3 hours. Crazy runtimes!
• The build quality is way up there. Reminds me of their TK models. It’s beefy with thick squared off threads.
• If you asked me to mention an aspect I didn’t care for, I would say it’s truly hard to find anything. However, I’m not a fan of rubber charge ports on lights. Some people love them, and it works great on the LR35R. It’s great to have options! This light also would have benefited to have a little more knurling on the body of the light for grip as it’s a tad slippery when hands get wet. (Keep in mind, I’m a huge fan of the older TK models with the insane aggressive grip style. You may not like a lot of grip.)
• The belt sheath is definitely useable. The light fits in it nicely and once it’s strapped in it’s not going anywhere. It works great on molly webbing too.
• All in all, this is a fantastic light to keep in a go bag, truck, IFAK, or anywhere else you think you might need a long lasting, super bright flashlight. I wouldn’t trade mine for any other!
