Using only quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; but cell damage or short circuiting are potential risks the user assumes.
Battery Replacement
Unscrew the light body to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light body back on.
Charging
- First switch off the light and plug the USB A socket of the charging cable into an electrical outlet, then connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light.
- When charging, the charging indicators will flash from left to right to display charging status. The four indicators will be constant-on after charging is complete.
- Be sure to close the anti-dust cover once charging is completed.
Power Bank Discharge Function
- Switch off the light and plug the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable into the light, then connect the other end to your device.
- Single click either of the switches to begin discharging. Do not turn the flashlight on. The battery indicators lights will turn on and recede from the right to the left showing that the discharge function is working.
- Be sure to close the anti-dust cover once charging is completed.
Note:
- Only Eco output level is available when charging and discharging.
- The USB Type-C port in the neck combines charging and discharging function.
- The light and the included charging cable support PD3.0/PD2.0, QC3.0/QC2.0 fast charging protocols, the external adapter will be auto-detected if it supports the mentioned fast-charging protocols, if it does then 4.0A charging current will be selected, or 2.5A charging current will be selected.
- Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum performance of the battery.
Battery Level Indication
With the light switched off, single click either switch to check the battery status, which will last for 3 seconds.
- Four blue lights on: 100% - 80%
- Three blue lights on: 80% - 60%
- Two blue lights on: 60% - 40%
- One blue light on: 40% - 20%
- One blue light flashes: 20% - 0
Note: This only works with the included Fenix ARB-L52-16000 battery pack.
Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor
The flashlight has a built-in intelligent sensing circuit. When the light surface is close to the lighting object (about 60mm) for more than 1.5 seconds, the flashlight will automatically downshift the output level to Eco to avoid danger caused by high temperature. When the light surface is more than 0.8 seconds away from the lighting object, the flashlight automatically recalls the previously used output level. *As objects of different materials and colors reflect differently to light, there will be slight deviations in the sensing distance.
Turning on/off Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor
- With the light unlocked, press and hold the right switch over 10 seconds, the light will flash four times at the present mode and then will constantly light up at the present mode, indicating the sensor function is disabled.
- With the light unlocked, press and hold the right switch over 10 seconds, the light will flash twice at the present mode and then will constantly light up at the present mode, indicating the sensor function is enabled.
- The sensor function is factory set to ON.
- The Intelligent Brightness Downshifting Sensor Function can be manually enabled and disabled.
Intelligent Protection
Time-limited downshift
With the light switched on, if Turbo is being selected for over 20 seconds, the light will downshift until to 8000 lumens within 60 seconds.
With the light switched on, if High II is being selected for over 60 seconds, the light will downshift until to 4000 lumens within 60 seconds.
Note: The abovementioned functions are specially designed for avoiding discomfort and danger caused by overheating.
Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used on High I, High II or Turbo output level for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of those modes.
Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output mode, the battery level indicator blinks to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery.
Note: This only works with the included Fenix ARB-L52-16000 battery pack.
Usage and Maintenance of the Fenix LR50R 12,000 Lumen Flashlight
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
- Lock the light or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. Recharge a stored battery every four months to maintain optimal battery performance.
- Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
- Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
A: The battery needs replacing.
Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol. If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.
Warning
- This flashlight is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing eye damage to the user or others. Avoid shining the flashlight directly into anyone's eyes.
- This flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used for extended periods, resulting in high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay attention to safe use to avoid scalding.
