Operating Instructions
On/off
On:
With the lamp locked, turn the rotary switch clockwise from “OFF” to any designated mode to unlock and turn on the lamp.
With the lamp unlocked, press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to turn on the lamp.
Off:
With the lamp switched on, turn the rotary switch counterclockwise to “OFF” to lock and turn off the lamp or press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to turn off the lamp.
Mode Switching
With the lamp switched off, turn the rotary switch clockwise to cycle through Lock mode⇄White light mode⇄Red light mode.
Output Selection
White light mode: With the lamp switched on, single click the electronic switch to cycle through Low→Med→High→Turbo.
Red light mode: In Red light mode, single click the electronic switch to cycle through Low→Med→High→Flash.
Gesture-sensing Function
On: With the lamp switched off, press and hold the electronic switch for 6 seconds, and the lamp will flash twice at the Low output of Red light mode, indicating that the function is enabled.
Off: With the lamp switched off, press and hold the electronic switch for 6 seconds, and the lamp will flash eight times at the Low output of Red light mode, indicating that the function is disabled.
Gesture-sensing lamp on/off
With the lamp turned on and the gesture-sensing function enabled, wave your hand within the sensing range in front of the lamp to temporarily turn off the lamp, and wave your hand again to turn on the lamp and recall the last selected output.
With the lamp turned on and the gesture-sensing function disabled, it will not respond to any motion operation.
*When the lamp is turned on and the gesture-sensing function is enabled, press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to turn off the lamp. After this action, it will not respond to any motion operation.
Note:
- The sensing range is within about 3.94in/10cm in front of the lamp, and may vary slightly depending on the material and color of the sensing object, the ambient light, the brightness of the selected output, and the waving speed.
- The gesture-sensing function is infrared sensing. If any other objects besides your hand pass in front of the lamp within the sensing range, the lamp will also be turned on or off.
- The gesture-sensing function can only turn the light on and off within the current lighting mode, and can neither change the mode nor the output.
- When the gesture-sensing function is enabled, waving a hand will only turn off the lamp temporarily. At this time, the lamp is in a standby state, and power will still be consumed as the lamp actively awaits commands. If the lamp will not be used for an extended period turn the rotary switch to “OFF” to save battery power.
Intelligent Memory Circuit
The lamp automatically memorizes the last selected output of each mode when users press and hold the electronic switch to turn on/off the lamp. When turned on again, the previously used output of the selected mode will be recalled.

*Do not mix batteries of different brands, sizes, capacities or types. Doing so may cause damage to the lamp or to the batteries being used.
*Only use the recommended or usable batteries mentioned in this user manual. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries (such as short-circuiting or overheating) could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Any adverse effects resulting from the use of low-quality batteries are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability. Using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion. It is recommended to use a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery.
Battery Replacement
Open the back battery cap to insert the battery in accordance with the polarity marks, then close the back battery cap.
Charging
- Uncover the anti-dust cap and plug the USB Type-C side of the charging cable into the charging port of the lamp.
- When charging, the indicators will flash from left to right to display the charging status. The four indicators will be constant-on after charging is completed.
- With the lamp switched off, the normal charging time of using a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery is about 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/1 A or above charging adapter.
Note:
- Only Low outputs can be operated while charging.
- Recharge a stored lamp every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
Battery level indication
With the lamp switched off, single click the electronic switch to check the battery status. Single click once again and the indicator(s) will go out, or without any operation the indicator(s) will last for 3 seconds. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator(s) will show the current battery level and will last for 3 seconds.
Four lights on: 100% - 80%
Three lights on: 80% - 60%
Two lights on: 60% - 40%
One light on: 40% - 20%
One light flashes: 20% - 1%
*Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery.
Intelligent Overheat Protection
The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 55°C/131°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55°C/131°F, the lamp will gradually recall the preset output level.
Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the headlamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, one of the battery level indicators blinks to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.
Headband Assembly
Notice: The headband is factory assembled and ready to use right out of the package.
Adjust the headband by sliding the buckle to the required length.
Usage and Maintenance
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the lamp and will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
- Take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
- Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.
Warning
- Do NOT place this lamp in the reach of children!
- Do NOT shine the lamp directly into the eyes of anyone!
- Do NOT place light head near flammable objects, high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite!
- Do NOT use the lamp in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth, doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the headlamp or internal battery fails!
- This lamp will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the lamp shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns.
- Lock the lamp or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation when the lamp is placed in a closed and flammable environment such as pockets and backpacks!
- The LEDs of this lamp are not replaceable; so the whole lamp should be replaced when any of the LEDs reaches the end of its lifespan.
