Intelligent Overheat Protection

The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 55°C/131°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55°C/131°F, the lamp will gradually recall the preset output level.

Low-voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the headlamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, the headlamp blinks at Low output of Spot-and-floodlight mode to remind you to timely recharge the battery case.

Headband Assembly

The headband is factory assembled by default.

Adjust the headband by sliding the buckle to the required length.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed parts can cause damage to the lamp and will void the warranty.
  • Unplug the connecting cable to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Recharge a stored headlamp every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the batteries.
  • The headlamp may flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate due to poor battery level. Please recharge the battery case. If this method doesn't work, please contact the distributor.

Great Light !

I have had this for a week now, I very much like it ! / very bright, comfortable. I like that they included an extension cable so the battery pack can be relocated if needed. also the rear red light is an awesome touch, and very bright ! / on the down side, the flood light on full reads 2,700k (sekonic meter used) way too orange/yellow, not sure why they would do this.... also I think it would be nice if when flood & spot are on together, they could be adjusted individually like the fenix headlamp HP30R (older version). other than that, very happy with it

Another Fenix Lifesaving Gem!

Well, I'm a fan, Fenix is very focused on quality, safety, and their team are hard working gifted folks at every level. I possess a multitude of their offerings, and primarily having served in LE and the United States Army. I rely on a firms integrity and viability and product adaptability, in the worst environments, Fenix rises to this level.
The HP35R is a professional light of exceptional build quality and very comfortable in the standard or SAR edition. It is one of their best headlamps, and can be recharged in the field with a Dark Energy high density battery pack. I would not have any reticence utilizing this headlamp in a multitude of rafting, hunting, military deployments and especially clearing out buildings or tunnels. It is a superb lighting option for SAR.

Well worth it.

Wonderful light! Very easy controls which is one of my favorite things about Fenix. The light is bright and the battery life is great as well. A lot of people have complained about the color of the floodlight, but when you think of search and rescue it makes a lot of sense. Definitely my favorite headlamp so far and I’ve had a lot of them. 👍

It's OKAY.

I have almost all of Fenix's headlamps and this one is just okay. It's heavy and bulky. The floodlight feature is too yellow. The previous version had a cooler white tone which was perfect. The rotator wheel and button to adjust brightness is excellent on this model. Overall I think they can make this headlamp smaller with the same features. I prefer my other headlamp over this one.

MAKE BACKUP BATTERY PACKS

Just bought one I love it everything a guy could need but fenix you need to make spare battery packs since it’s so easy to change out I’d buy atleast 2 of them for all night usage

Hi JW - we are currently testing the HM75R Extender to see how it works with the HP35R. It's my understanding that the factory will be selling just the battery packs at some point. With running down the battery completely on the HP35R, we were able to get it to charge about halfway with the power extender. We are currently testing out the ability to use the HP35R with the power extender. To be honest, in our testing, our challenge is that it's taken so long to completely kill the battery. So the tests are taking us multiple days to complete them. We have been pretty impressed with how long the headlamp lasts on Turbo when we are trying to completely drain it.

*edit to add:

We have tested out the HM75R power extender. It would work in an emergency, but definitely has some limitations. If the HP35R is completely drained, you can charge it using the power extender, but the battery in the extender will run out before you can fully charge the HP35R. It will get it about halfway charged. If the HP35R is drained and you want to use the power extender to use the headlamp, it will only power it on low, and drains the battery fairly quickly on that too. So again, it works in an emergency, but not for much beyond that. We are hopeful the manufacturer will be selling the HP35R battery packs soon, but I don't yet have any information on an expected date for that.
