  2. When charging, the OLED smart display will automatically show the charging icon and the battery level to indicate the charging status.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover to maintain the dustproof and waterproof ability.

Note:

  1. The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 rechargeable battery is approximately 3 hours from depletion to fully charged with a 5V/2.5 A charging adapter.
  2. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.

Four bars: saturated 100% - 75%

Three bars: sufficient 75% - 50%

Two bars: poor 50% - 25%

One bar: critical 25% - 10%

Zero bar: depleted 10% - 1%

*This feature only works with a recommended battery.

INTELLIGENT OVERHEAT PROTECTION

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the light automatically recalls the previously used output level.

LOW VOLTAGE WARNING

When the voltage level drops below 3.0 V, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the battery level icon on the OLED smart display flashes to remind you to replace or recharge the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery level runs out.

*This feature only works with a recommended battery.

USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Turn off and lock the flashlight or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the light's performance as dirty contacts may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
    A: Poor battery level.
Solution: Replace or recharge the battery (Ensure the battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications).
B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

What kind of LED is used in LD45R? Does Fenix offer to replace LED?

A: A Luminus SFT70 LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.

Fenix does not provide LED replacement services for the time being, and users are not recommended to replace the LEDs independently, which may affect product performance and cause product damage.

What is the color temperature of LD45R?

A: Around 6500K.

What are the working voltage and the working current of LD45R?

A: The working voltage is 2.8 V - 4.2 V and the maximum working current is 15 A.

What is the runtime of the Turbo output?

A: The runtime of Turbo output is 2 hours 40 minutes. However, the light will accumulate a significant amount of heat used at Turbo output. When the light reaches a certain temperature, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. Therefore, this runtime data is measured in total of runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanism in the design. According to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard, this runtime data is from the results produced by Fenix through its laboratory testing under the temperature of 21±3°C. (For additional details, please check the runtime graphic in the user manual).

*According to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard, the initial reading of runtime is taken at 30 seconds of continuous operation, and the end point of reading is reached when the output value reaches 10% of the initial value.

How to prevent accidental activation of the LD45R?

A: Lock: with the light switched off, double click the electronic switch to lock the light, the light will blink twice in Eco mode and the OLED smart display will show a locked symbol to indicate the locked status.

Unlock: with the light locked, double click the electronic switch to unlock the light, the OLED smart display will show an unlocked symbol and the light will be activated in Eco mode to indicate the unlocked status.

You may also take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.

Is LD45R rechargeable? How long is the charging time?

A: Yes, LD45R is rechargeable with a USB Type-C port. While charging, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the anti-dust cover to reveal the charging port, then connect the USB Type-C end of the charging cable to the flashlight.
  2. When charging, the OLED smart display will automatically show the charging icon and the current battery level to indicate the charging status.
  3. Once charging is completed, be sure to unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover to maintain the dustproof and waterproof ability. The normal charging time of the included rechargeable battery is approximately 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5V/2.5 A charging adapter.

Why does the LD45R downshift to a lower mode after being used for a while and the higher mode cannot be selected?

A: There are two reasons:

  1. Intelligent Overheat Protection
The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature.
  2. Low-voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the Eco output is reached.

Why does the LD45R flicker?

A: The reasons that may cause the light to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate:

  1. Poor battery level.
Solution: Recharge or replace the battery.
  2. The contact or contact point of the battery or light is dirty.
Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

If the above methods don't work, please contact your authorized distributor.

What kind of battery can be used in LD45R? Why can I not use a Fenix ARB-L21-5000 battery or a Fenix ARB-L21-5000U battery?

A: It is recommended to use a Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery. The Fenix ARB-L21-5000 and the Fenix ARB-L21-5000U batteries are not compatible with the LD45R flashlight because their minimum overcurrent protection values are 14 A. The LD45R flashlight has a maximum working current that exceeds 14 A. Therefore, if you use either of these batteries, the flashlight will shut off due to the battery protection mechanism.

What are the optional accessories for LD45R?

A: There are no compatible accessories.

What should I do when the LD45R needs repair?

A:

  1. 15-day replacement: Fenix will replace identical or equal products with documented manufacturing defects within 15 days of purchase.
  2. 5-year free repair: Fenix will repair a light free of charge within 5 years (rechargeable battery and other accessories: 1 year) of purchase if problems develop with normal use.
  3. Lifetime limited warranty: If repair is required after 5 years from the date of purchase, Fenix will charge for parts. The total repair fee is dictated by the cost of the replaced materials.
  4. If you need warranty service, fill out the warranty form at https://www.fenixlighting.com/pages/warranty-repairs to start your repair claim.
